2019 Chapter Elections

03 Dec 2018 7:45 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

The success of any non-profit organization is dependent upon the engagement of its members. If you have received any benefit from your membership with ATD RTA, please consider how you can give back to the chapter and ensure its continued success.

The ATD RTA Chapter is adding positions to the chapter board for 2019. The elected positions are:

  • President
  • President-Elect
  • VP Finance
  • VP Membership – Recruitment
  • VP Membership – Retention
  • VP Marketing – Web/Social Media
  • VP Marketing – Internal Communications
  • VP Programming – Event Coordination
  • VP Programming – Logistics
  • Academic / Community Outreach
  • Member-at-large

Q: Why is ATD RTA changing the makeup of the chapter board?

A: The responsibilities of several of the positions have been too much to place on one person. So, the Membership, Marketing, and Programming roles have turned into co-positions, focusing on a specific aspect of the role. Not only does this distribute the responsibilities, but it provides more opportunities for our members to serve in leadership roles.

Q: What are the responsibilities for the positions?

A: Each role has their own set of responsibilities which will be posted on the ATD RTA website. More broadly, members in elected positions commit to:

  • Serve on the chapter board for one calendar year (except for President and President-Elect)
  • Attend monthly chapter board meetings
  • Meet with their respective committees as needed

Q: Who gets selected for the elected positions?

A: The Nominating Committee prepares the ballot for ATD RTA elected positions. They accept nominees from the chapter membership. Members of the Nominating Committee will also reach out to members to gather interest.

Q: Who is eligible to run for an elected position?

A: To be eligible, people must be a current member of ATD RTA chapter and a member of ATD National – or agree to add national membership by the start of the term.

Q: Can I nominate myself for an elected position?

A: Yes! If you have an interest in one or more elected positions, please email admin@tdrta.org.

Q: I want to volunteer but I have limited time. Can I still be involved?

A: Absolutely! There are many opportunities to support the chapter without running for an elected position. Many of the positions work with a committee to help manage the individual tasks of keeping the chapter running smoothly.

Remember, the chapter is dependent on dedicated members like you to keep it running.
