If you’ve ever recorded your own voice, or someone else’s, for video voiceovers, you know that the process has its costs and challenges. Does this scenario sound familiar? A subject matter expert has agreed, reluctantly, to record voiceovers for training videos from their home office. They have a cheap microphone, so you order a replacement and wait for it to arrive. You spend time coaching your SME on how to position their mic and use recording software. Finally, they record some audio scripts, but then there’s a two-week delay because of their work schedule. When they’re finally done, you discover that the second batch of recordings sounds different than the first because they had a head cold. What’s worse, they misspoke at key points. So, you have to schedule them to record audio pickups. And the project deadline is looming….
