Leveraging AI for Better Learning Outcomes: Advanced Measurement and Analytics

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping learning analytics, unlocking deeper insights into performance, engagement, and skill development. Learn best practices for automating data collection and leveraging AI for data analysis to uncover patterns in real time—allowing for a more precise, scalable, and data-rich approach to measuring training effectiveness. This session will take a deep dive into how generative AI can enhance learning analytics, optimize evaluation methods, and improve training outcomes by going beyond traditional reporting. Exploring how AI-driven analytics can provide actionable insights that improve learner retention, personalize training paths, and refine instructional design based on real-time data.

Learning Objectives:

In this session, you will:

  • Understand the role of AI-driven learning analytics and how it enhances measurement, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Apply best practices for integrating AI-powered analytics into L&D functions to enable real-time monitoring, predictive insights, and continuous program refinement.

Christopher Massaro

Lecturer, Leadership Studies, University of Southern Maine

ATD RTA Board, VP Programs and Events

Christopher Massaro is a learning and development professional with over 25-year experience the development and facilitation of training programs in the retail, hospitality, and service industries.

Chris is an ATD Master Trainer and has facilitated hundreds of session including training conferences, keynotes, and leadership development of sessions across several industries including entertainment, hospitality, retail, government, healthcare, and technology. He contracts with several training providers to design and facilitates professional development workshops.

Chris holds a Master’s in Leadership Studies and is currently pursuing a doctorate in coaching and mentoring. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern Maine, where he teaches in the Leadership and Organizational Studies department, Christopher has developed and passion and expertise in social science research methodology. He is passionate about connecting academic theory and the practical application of learning knowledge and best practices.
