Session Description:
Instructional designers and eLearning developers create slides, eLearning, videos, and job aids every day. Many of us never learned the graphic design basics that make those assets clear, consistent, and engaging. As a result, content can feel cluttered, visually uneven, or harder for learners to navigate than it needs to be. Without a design foundation, it’s hard to know where to start or what to fix first.
This session focuses on practical graphic design techniques designers and developers can add to the work they already do. You’ll learn how people visually process information and how to apply simple design principles to improve clarity and reduce cognitive load.
You’ll see real examples and quick tips you can use right away, including:
- Using layout, alignment, and white space to create cleaner screens
- Creating visual hierarchy and contrast that guide learner attention
- Choosing fonts, colors, and images that work well for digital learning
- Applying graphic design best practices in Rise, PowerPoint, Storyline, and video
Participants will receive a one-page graphic design tip sheet they can use as a quick reference when building eLearning, slides, and videos.
